The Role
The placement is very challenging and demanding which keeps you constantly interested. However, the working hours can make the experience quite dull as there is little time to socialise.
Nearly all colleagues care about your progress and help you to develop. However, given the size of the firm there are a few who do not.
The training at PwC is really in-depth and the learning on-the-job aspect provides you with all the information necessary to perform well in the job. Managers are trained to provide help when needed and to coach through the work expected of you. The ACA training is also great, the tutors care about how you perform and are always willing to answer questions.
Extremely, however there where maybe 1 or 2 days where I had a break. Working hours where usually extended due to how busy I was, normally from 7.5 hours to 9-10 hours.
The same as any graduate entering as an associate - a lot. The work I performed was crucial to the audit and was at the same importance as most of my seniors.
Mainly help with time-management and stress-management, however my degree is not account-related so it will not provide much help.
The Company
Average age at PwC is 27 hence all very young and lively. East Midlands office is very social as all the associates and senior associates (those in years 1-5) sit at hot desks. Due to the nature of the job, most of my time was spent out of the office however each time I returned I really enjoyed myself.
Very as it is in line with the first year of the graduate scheme.
In-house training as well as for the ACA qualification. Around 30% of my time was spent learning.

Positive - already received an offer to join as a graduate, skipping the first year of the graduate scheme, 10 days after my contract ended.
The Culture
Most associates are very social however the placement 西瓜视频s where the most social. Due to the long hours of the job sometimes finding time to be social was difficult however.
Fairly cheap, Nottignham is a good city to live in however Loughborough is closer.
Really good - could always go out on a Friday or Saturday. Loughborough Student Union was great on weekends when the 西瓜视频s where still at university.
There are some however it is nothing like the amount of options at university.
