The Role
My placement with PwC was one of the best experiences that i have ever decided to do. The placement was really worthwhile in order to gain an insight into a big four firm and to see what working life is about whilst still at university. My placement with PwC didnt fee like I was "just a placement 西瓜视频",
I was treated like an associate and felt the same! I wasn't given any sill jobs such as scanning things or making cups of tea, I was put on highly confidential and important projects and my work did go out to clients. My team was really supportive and i felt like i could always ask them for help if i needed it,
My people manager was always there if i had any questions/queries about what was happening with my placement or what product group I would be able to gain some experience in. My line manager as always there for any project related questions and always helped me when i needed it. I was always supported by my team and felt like a full-time member of the team even when i was only going to be there for a few months.
During my placment I was always on a project, there were only 1 or 2 days at the start where there was no work for me but after i got on my first project I was busy every single day. I was constantly challenged to push and better myself throughout my placement by being put on different projects for different clients.
During my placement i was treated as an associate so i was given the same work as an assosiate would. This meant i had to step up into roles of responsibility far beyond my grade. This was great in order to challenge myself and always try and improve in order to be at the best of my ability.
With PwC i was very well trained and was able to attend dfferent training courses if I wanted to. There were so many different opportunities made available to me in order to better myself. PwC really take an interest in developing thier employees and i really noticed this whilst on placement with them.
The Company
There was a good atmosphere within the ofifce but when there are strict deadlines or a team is under pressure everyone knows to get their head down and get their work done as quickly and efficiently as possible. There are always social activities going on so there is a lot of networking within the firm which is great in order to get to know different people in different teams.
My business placement was in Forensics where the work is very crisis based, therefore it is impossible to predict what work we would be doing very far in advance. However saying that there was always work available to the placement 西瓜视频s and we were never left sitting twiddling our thumbs and doing nothing!
The firm invested fully in their business placement 西瓜视频s, I was able to attend many different training courses on different pieces of software or personal training course such as how to give and receive feedback. I was also able to attend a two week basic bookkeeping course in which lunch was provided every day for two weeks!

Future aspects within the firm are very appealing. For me personally the route i want to take would be PwC's accountancy graduate scheme. This is a 3 and a half year training contract in order to b a chartered accountant. The promotion aspects with this scheme are very appealing as usually promotions are given every year if you have performed well. Also you can be given an offer for is scheme on the back of or placement.

Very good social scene with PwC such as first friday every month, this is a dress down day and then we get to go for some free drinks in the Hilton after work! This is a good way to network with different people from different teams and find out abit more about what those different teams do. There are also loads of different strategy days in which there are different social aspects of the day.
The cost of living in Belfast can be high in certain areas but just outside of Belfast can be a little bit cheaper. Social life in Belfast is really good, there are so many different nights in different places. Would defintely recommend Belfast as a place to work and live as it has a really good atmosphere.

Opportunities to get involved in outside of work varies on where you live but thereare plenty of things to do and get involved in if you put yourself out there an look around. There are lots of different touristy things not too far from belfast such as the Giants Causway etc. It really depends on what you want to do but im sure Belfast has something for everyone!
