    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working for PwC gives you an insight into how one of the world's largest professional services firm operates and was a very informative and enjoyable experience. I found myself working on projects for huge companies, however at times felt that I wasn't gaining the full expereince or getting enough insight into what I could be doing as graduate associate

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • You are treated like an associate, you are not treated like an intern or someone who is inferior. Every colleague treats you fairly and makes you feel like you are a valuable member of the team. This makes you feel very valued and made it easy to fit into the firm very quickly. This made the placement experience a lot better

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • PwC provide a large amount of support and guidance from management and senior staff. The senior staff very much have an 'open door' policy where you can feel comfortable approaching them and discussing aspects of work or asking any questions you may have throughout the placement. They often moderate you and score you in a reviewing process alongside associates, so it gives you an understanding of where you sit/what level you are on/how you are performing throughout the year

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied. Once working on a project for a client, you are always very busy and working to deadlines. This means that you always feel utilised and that you are adding value to the firm. However, at times when you are not resourced onto a client project, it can be difficult to pass the time. Although there is always a large amount of business development work which you can carry out, such as supporting new intakes, 西瓜视频 recruitment or more technical research and analysis in order to improve yourself or the firm

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Like previously said, you are treated as an associate so you are often given your own role or task within a project, You are then responsible for completeing that task and will get feedback from your project manager. At times, I was given some roles where i was responsible for an entire team or project, which was a great experience for a placement year.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My degree covers technology and business, so working within the technology business advisoy area of PwC, I learned and developed a lot of skills which will help me with my future career and my university performance. This included public speaking through presentations and technical skills such as excel, systems etc. I also was able to complete a professional certification while I was at the firm

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was always very positive and I got the impression of a hard working environment and felt everyone got along within the office and team environment. There are often stand ups and discussions about how to improve and what we could be doing better. They also have a first Friday drinks and dress down day

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement is well structured in terms of induction, progression, review and leaving. You are then put onto projects with clients and the work load etc can vary so at times you did find yourself doing nothing or not feeling you were adding value. But these were rare occurrences and overall it is a very well organised programme.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invests a large amount of time training you, initially for up to 4-6 weeks. This gives you effectively the same skilset and training that a new graduate would receive so this was very good. They also give you the opportunity to complete professional qualifications which will benefit me not just now, but in my future career

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The prospects at PwC are huge and you can find yourself on a career path where you can grow, learn and achieve the best that you can. I hope to be returning as a graduate within Technology consulting after I complete my degree at university. There are also some good opportunities to progress and get promoted
