The Role
An absolutely fantastic experience and one I enjoyed very much. The wide range of work at PwC and the diversity of clients is a tremendous thing. It is an internship I would 100% recommend to any prospective 西瓜视频s. The length of the internship is perfect as well (six weeks). Overall, just fantastic.
By and large I was incredibly valued by fellow colleagues. Never once was I asked to just make the coffee runs or being stuck doing administration work. From the word go I was given responsibility and a diverse range of tasks which stretched me on a daily basis, the perfect platform from which to grow and develop skills and professional relationships.
The coaching received at PwC has been absolutely fantastic and has enabled me to quickly develop key skills and expound upon existing ones. Work is completed independently, but every time I would ask a question, someone would always be at hand to help. The coaching system at PwC has been evidently thought out and is incredibly effective.
The perfect balance. For an introduction to Assurance, PwC balanced responsibility with experience incredibly well. The internship encouraged interns to work hard, but to not work overtime, something which other firms would enforce upon 西瓜视频s. This provided a great level of balance between working hard, but also enjoying the new experience. Highly recommended to all, especially as an introduction to life in finance.
Across the internship the levels of responsibility varied. Certain tasks were very simple, others required more ownership of the project. I found that as an intern, the level of responsibility was the perfect level: enough to encourage you to step out, but not enough to overwhelm oneself.
From the initial training in London all the way to the final day, I developed new skills and was constantly learning throughout. The specific training on the technology PwC use was well taught and help and guidance was provided all throughout the internship. From technical skills to interpersonal skills to business awareness: the PwC internship provides for all of these and more.
The Company
The atmosphere in the PwC office in Edinburgh was fantastic. As part of the internship I spent time with clients in their own offices. However, each time I returned home to the PwC office it felt like a home. There was an immediate welcome. The office is brand new and has a very positive vibe about it. Highly recommended.
There is a reason PwC are famous for their internships. Incredibly well organised from day one until the end. All the flights are covered, expenses paid and training unrivalled. Especially being based in an office outside London, PwC provide a wide range of clients which gives the perfect experience for all interested in finance. I would recommend this internship to anyone.
The personal development has been fantastic. From contact with Partners and People Managers, to conversing with buddies. Everyone wills the interns to develop and to make the most of the experience. The entire process is so thorough, and the resources invested in to each intern is fantastic; from soft skills to hardware each intern is equipped and ready for financial endeavours.
Company Parties/Events
PwC as a firm is only going to grow. Within a field such as Assurance, the statutory requirement of Audit for businesses means it is a job that is not going to face boom-and-bust such as in Investment Banking. Also, PwC provide a wide variety of skills which are transferable across many lines of employment, beyond just the financial world.

The cost of living in Edinburgh is high. Flats are difficult to find and are at high prices. Apart from rent, Edinburgh is similar pricing to any other city regarding food etc. For me, Edinburgh is a perfect sized city with a wide variety of diversity and excitement, but never too big to feel out of place. Incredibly recommended to all 西瓜视频s.
