The Role
The internship is great. It lasts for 6 weeks and I was involved in projects from day one so I was given a great insight into the firm. Also, I got to know other interns and we had weekly catchup. Overall, I believe that my time is well spent with PwC.
I definitely feel valued by my team. I was give work to do and got coaching from team members. Besides, I was taken to dinner team and social drink. Also, I spent the last 2 weeks on client site outside London, so the manager really took care of the team.
Since starting the internship, we were allocated with a people manager and a buddy. Also, I have a weekly catch-up with my people manager, just to make sure I keep track of the progress without meeting any difficulties. Apart from that, I keep asking questions if I don鈥檛 understand the work, and my mentors are willing to answer and help me through. After each project, I was given feedback about my performance in order to improve myself.
My tasks varied on daily basis. The amount of work depends on the clients. We have to wait for clients' information in order to start the work. Also, since I am an intern, so the work amount is not much, and I always ask for work when I am done. Also, since this is not the busy season of audit so the working hour is flexible.
For an intern, I was given a few responsibility. I was doing my work under the guidance of my seniors. I was also given responsibilities such as chasing clients for information. I tested many different areas of the audit, so I believe that I got a good overview of what audit is like.
I got great insight into what the associates, and seniors do and from the work you do you can see how the audit is like .Also, I have strengthened my technical capabilities in terms of audit work, using Excel. Since I worked with different teams and clients during the intern, so I have improved my leadership and teamwork skills.
The Company
The atmosphere is nice and cosy in EP office where I was based. It has some break out areas for us to have a drink or catch-up with others. There were also a lot social events organised throughout the internship to keep in touch with other interns and employees within your division.
Very well-structured. From the start, we got the training session for a few days so that we can meet our peer interns across the country. Then, we were allocated to different team projects
We got an induction training for 3 days within our specific fields of service. I found this very useful, for example for those not coming from accounting background will not experience from knowledge gap. This meant that everyone had a good understanding of the work and the software that the firm using.

I would be more than happy to work for PwC as a graduate, and continuing on from the internship is greatly encouraged by the firm. Also, I like the culture of the firm. I was told that PwC encourages transferring employees from one division to another division within PwC after few years working.
The Culture
I am currently living in the central of London, so the prices were the same. Food was reasonably priced from the office canteen, and there were many food choices nearby as well. I travelled by tube on peak time every day, so the price would be more slightly expensive. Also, I spent the last two weeks in client outside London, so travel, accommodation and food are totally free and very nice.
Yes, we have social drink on Fridays.
