The Role
I really enjoyed it and I learnt a lot about the company. I got involved in actual work and got a wide range of experience. I felt really welcomed and it was really well organised and the people I met taught me loads about this line of work and the company in general and were always willing to help you out.
I had to do actualy work that was actually needed by my colleagues therefore I definitely felt valued. We went out for regular team meals, everyone was so friendly and people right up to Partner remembered your name and asked how you were getting on. It was a bit slow to start for people to fully realise you were a resource that would be useful for them to have and you had to ask for work before it was given to you. But now it is near the end I regularly get asked to do work and asked for my opinion.
My managment and supervisors were really good. I had people to talk to on my project but also a people manager who was so helpful in guiding me through the whole internship. They massively made sure I was getting what I wanted out of the whole process. I had weekly meetings with my people manager and I was given great advice if I ever had issues.
It really varied. Some days I never stopped and some days I barely had anything to do. This was a bit about time management but also about making yourself busy and going and asking for work. If you don't ask here you probably won't get and if you are the type of person to shy away and wait for someone to give you an opportunity I would say this isn't for you.
Relatively quite a bit considering my skill level and my experience. I had regular tasks that I completed without any checking from anyone else. I was also regularly put in charge of organising client meetings and even given the opportunity to chair a meeting for the whole Midlands consulting team.
My degree is very unrelated to my internship so there was no direct link. But the general transferable skills I learnt were great, particularly the people skills were invaluable. I learnt so much about what it is to work and how to work effectively in a team. I also learnt so much about the industry my client worked in.
The Company
The atmosphere was great. I split my time between my company office and my client office. It was a bit more professional at the client office but the company office was great. They are really open offices and everyone introduces themselves to everyone and gets on really well. There is a great atmosphere here and it really makes you feel positive about the company.
Amazingly set up. It was so well organised right from the training through to the actual work. Whenever there were questions they were instantly answered and there genuinelly was nothing that could have been better organised.
Absolutely loads! We had 3 days staying away in a hotel at the start of the placement with training in all sorts of things every day. Then throughout the internship as well as the on the job training there are loads of opportunities to complete E-Learns and develop yourself in a more formal way.

I don't know yet but the impression I get is that a lot of summer placement 西瓜视频s get a job offer. I will have to wait and see.
The Culture
Yea! The interns went out for food pretty much once a week, I had a weekly team meal with my project team and we had quite a lot of office drinks and socials. There really isn't an excuse to have a bad social life here.
I go to University in the same city so I already had accomodation. It is cheaper than London but obviously the bars etc. we tended to go to were quite expensive. Most of the socials were subsidised though and all team meals were paid for.
The nightlife in Birmingham is amazing! Admittedly I am biased because I go to University here but there is definitely something for everyone in this city.
I think there are quite a lot of things to get involved in within the company but maybe not so much offered to the interns/ during summer. I didn't really hear of much going on whilst I was here but I know for a fact there are loads of sports clubs and volunteering opportunities if you join on a longer term.
