Thoroughly enjoyed the experience, was gven a great insight int the firm, the work that they undertake and the varying clients that they work with. Joining wiht a group of around 9 interns in my department gave us a great opportunity to network with people in a similar position to me and share our experences throughout the 6 weeks.

My colleagues were always willing to answer my questions and help in any way they could, which really made the experience a more enjoyable as they made it so easy to fit in and contribute in the team. As well as answering work related questions they were always open to sharing their experiences of how they joined the company and the type of work that they would regularly undertake (seeing as the internship was over a quieter period in the summer they were able to explain how the work differs in busy season with year end engagements)

At the start of the Internship we were each allocated a people manager and a buddy with whom we metseveral times over the course of the programme and were always available on email or saetime to answer any questions we may have had and deal with any issues we may have had.

Speaking to other interns that was very dependent on what client you were put on. For the first 2 weeks i was on a client which had a particularly busy work load and thus was working quite consistently throughout. On my second cient there were times when we were waiting on clients to provide documentation etc so was slightly slower. Overall, with the E-Learn resources provided by PwC online there was plenty of things to get on with which could keep you relatively busy.

Again i believe this is very much based on the client. You are always undertaking actual audit work similarly to if you joined as a full time graduate. In my projct in the first 2 weeks i was responsible for most of the testing for the ELR engagement and even dealt with client meetings myself, whilst regularly reporting my progress to the manager. Whereas in the next project i undertook the same tesing but alongside another associate so we shared repsonsibility for its completion.

This really gave us an insight into the work we would actually be doing as graduates, and thus the skills learnt in Aura and Excel and othe related audit programmes will really give me a headstart when starting a full time job in Assurance. It also gave us a great network of peple which can be drawn on when beginning my career.

The atmosphere in the more london office is great, very relaxed and everybody is very approachable if you have any question or queries about anything (such as using the printers etc) For most of my internship i was based away on client sited in London. Similarly in this environment we were given a meeting room from which to work and our team of PwC colleagues were able to work efficiently.

The overall placement was very well organised. To begin with we were taken on a residential training course where food, accommodation and classes were well planned and executed. When we were put into the office we were given adequate inductions and throughout the six weeks were provided with weekly updates from the early identification team with any news and tasks to look out for.

We were provided with lots of materials during our residential training course of useful information on the audit process, aura files etc. We were given access to their wealth of E-Learn resources from which we could undertake hundreds of training modules and were also provided with work computers and email addresses so we could fully contribute to the work of the team.

Future prospects are very appealing following the internship and following a meeting between your people manager and a partner based on your feedback you may be offered a place on the graduate programme.

We met up regularly when we were in the office and often went out for drinks on a friday night. This was a really great element to the internship as you can discuss other peoples experiences and equally meet a lot of likeminded people who i may be seeing again should i be offered a graduate position at the end of the internship.

I lived at home so the cost of living was not expensive but socialising in the area was quite expensive but that is just London prices so was to be expected

There was a few nice bars around the office and restaurants which we wet to a few times, being quite centrally located there was a lot of placeson offer

There were oppotunities to take part in masterclass events and training which i took advantage of attendig a digital masterclass event and GDPR talk. We saw a number of opportunities of activities that you could do outside of work such as sports and choirs but only being within the firm for six weeks it was not really long enough to fully take advanage of these.
