    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work at PwC, and have relished the opportunity to be part of such a forward thinking global firm. I have particularly enjoyed working in a variety of teams and solving real life problems for my clients. There has been an extremely good work life balance throughout the internship, giving you plenty of time to meet interns across all the different service lines.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At PwC you have the opportunity to meet and work alongside a diverse range of motivated people. As an intern you are given responsibility right from the off, making you feel like a valuable member of your specific team rather than simply a 西瓜视频 on an Internship. You are also given the opportunity to build relationships with people across the firm in various different service lines, rather than simply your own team. For example, I was able to meet the US interns and build a network on a global scale.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There is an extremely good balance between being provided with a support structure and challenged to learn independently. I applied for this internship to learn as many new things as possible, and the balance between the two provides a very stimulating environment for developing. If you are every worried about a piece of work or do not understand a task you have been set, you will always have a strong and supporting team to guide you through it.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • During this Internship placement I was kept busy with a variety of different tasks and challenges. Not only are you able to provide a valuable service working on client projects, you also have the opportunity to participate in an Internal challenge between the Interns. Outside of individual work, you are also able to attend various different days and events throughout your internship, giving you the opportunity to broaden your boundaries and expand your knowledge.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a real sense of responsibility over my work during this placement. Given the client facing nature of my role, I was able to meet with clients on a one-to-one basis and discuss anything necessary to the audit, giving me a real taste of what it鈥檚 like working in this environment.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The training I have received has allowed me to make an informed decision that I would like to pursue a career within this line of service. During this internship I have been able to work in a group with fellow colleagues towards a project, and present in front of a large audience. As my degree at University places a large emphasis on public speaking and presenting, this is something I will be able to take forward with me into my final year.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyday you sit next to someone new which gives you the opportunity to consistently meet new people and develop new relationships. I was out with clients for a large proportion of my Internship, so have less of an insight into the office atmosphere. There were various socials organised throuhout the Internship to keep in touch with other interns and employees within your divisions!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • This was a key factor that made this Internship so enjoyable. Right from the start everyday seemed to be planned to incorporate something new. The training days at the begininng of the Internship allow you to meet your fellow interns across the country, and also help you settle into life within the firm.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The first four days of our Internship were used to train us within our specific fields of service. This meant that everyone had a good understanding of the work and technology the firm used when were given work thereafter. I really felt the firm spent time investing in my future, and am grateful to have had such good training going forward.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am unware of the statistics for securing a graduate offer, however it probably differs between departments. If you perform to the best of your ability throughout the internship and make sure that you represent the firm with integrity and honesty, there is a good possibility that you will be heading back to University with a graduate offer.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • This was really down to us to organise. Although some events were put on for us, we really made a conscious effort to maximise our time working with each other. Events would occur on multiple evenings each week, and it's up to everyone individually to get involved. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone on a personal level outside the officem and have built some strong relationships during this period.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was based in central London so understandably it is probably the most expensive place to both live and socialise across the UK. This did not hinder any form of social activities, as people were aware of these prices prior to the Internship. As long as you are aware the the cost of living is expensive, it is not a shock to the system.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Again, I was based in central London so the nightlife is what you make of it. You are surrounded by hundreds of things to do. Anything you fancy doing, you will be able to find a place the offers it nearby. We went to play ping pong, darts and even went bowling after work so there are plenty of things that are readily available.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • This was really down to us to organise. Although some events were put on for us, we really made a conscious effort to maximise our time working with each other. Events would occur on multiple evenings each week, and it's up to everyone individually to get involved. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone on a personal level outside the officem and have built some strong relationships during this period.
