The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement, everyone I worked with/ met was extremely friendly and inclusive in all areas of work which was really nice. The opportunity to meet all interns on the 3day residential was a great introduction to the firm. The work that I have been involved in has been all extremely interesting and colleagues worked with have been inclusive getting me involved in all areas.
I felt like an instrumental member of the team, I was given real client work from day one and this was greatly appreciated from the team who were very supportive at every stage. On a number of occasions my colleagues had told me they wouldn't have been able to complete work without my help which was also a great sign that the work I was doing was adding value and made me feel extremely valued.
If I ever had a question/ query my manager or anyone in the team would always have time to run over issues with me to enhance my understanding and help complete the work to a high standard. I was always met with positivity when asking for help as it was viewed that I wanted to learn and was showing willing.
This was dependant on which project I was working on and what stage. I was never without anything to do and if I was having a quiet day there would always be someone willing to get me involved in their work. For example one of my projects had finished a day early and I spoke to a couple of people and they managed to take me on a client site audit the next day and show me first hand different aspects of an audit.
A lot more responsibility than expected! For one of the jobs I was working on I reviewed information provided by the clients on my own and from this analysis produced an overview spreadsheet which was used as the basis for a client meeting. I have also had direct contact with the client by managing key stake holders and requesting information to further out work.
The three day residential is a great basis to build your technical knowledge before you start on the job as you don’t feel like you are being dropping in at the deep end. This will greatly help me back at university with my technical knowledge, time management and communication written and verbal.
The Company
My office was extremely friendly, it’s the kind of environment where everyone which is really nice. The average age of the office was only 26 was gives a good feel and plenty of social activities to get involved in if interested.
Couldn't fault it.
For a company to provide an entire weeks’ worth of training when you are only there for 6 is really good and a sign that PwC really cares about its people. The first week consisted of a 3day residential and 2day local induction.

Very appealing they assess your performance over the course of the internship (via feedback from colleagues worked with) and from this consider you for a graduate position informing you on your final day.
The Culture
Very good social seen as it was a very young office got involved in football on a Monday, curry club and will go out for a few drinks with some colleagues form the office. Although there was only 2 summer interns in my office there are a lot of graduates and placement Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs so the social seen is pretty good.
Milton Keynes is quite a cheap place to live however I am used to Reading which is really expensive - I paid £450 rent for the 6weeks which is really good!
The nightlife in Milton Keynes isn't amazing but its what you make of it, I'm yet to have a bad night out.
Yes as mentioned above regular social events are organised for example curry club, last Friday of the month drinks, football on mondays...
