The Role
It was great to be working on actual associate tasks and making an impact for the team. In addition, catching up with the other interns and sharing experiences was valuable.
The team that I was working with made me feel valued and gave me constant encouragement.
At the time I joined, the project was extremely busy and it was hard for supervisors to provide detailed guidance, this meant I had to pick up new things very quickly and use my initiative.
As the team and project was busy, there was plenty of work to do on a daily basis. This work was genuine associate work which was important to the team.
We were given a high amount of responsibility relative to other interns, as there was a lot of work that needed to be completed by deadlines.
I developed a lot of IT skills such as excel and other financial platforms.
The Company
The office was quite stressful due to the workload and deadlines at that point in the year.
The company and the recruitment team were extremely organised when putting together the internship programme.
The internship began with a valuable induction training week where I learned a lot of new things.
Sports and Social Club
Future employment prospect are very appealing, as the company treats their employees very well and the work is stimulating.
The Culture
All the interns were very friendly and we went and socialised after work every friday. In addition, we went out with the team a couple of times and socialised with them outside the office.
Despite working in London, I commuted from Reading everyday for 8 weeks. The commute was relatively expensive, long and tiring, however a lot cheaper than living in London.
It was very busy and live.
There were opportunities available for sports etc. and also an extra ciricular project for interns to get involved in.
