    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship as all the PwC employees I worked with were welcoming, approachable and helpful. The internship also offered a high level of variety and I felt that it gave me a realistic indicator of what it would be like to have a career at PwC.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • On every team I was placed I was welcomed and integrated into instantly and this made for a fun and productive working environment.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • PwC has a strong coaching culture and all employees I interacted with were willing to offer guidance. On occassion I would have to refer back to my manager when the initial guidance provided was lacking but no one was ever resistant to giving support.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • For the majority of the time I was busy and had a series of jobs and tasks lined up. This meant that I had to stay focused and manage my time effectively, but equally I was never given a task that was too pressured or had an unachievable deadline. At a few points during the internship there were times where I had finished my task and had no job to move on to, but as soon as I notifed my manager to this, new tasks would be found so I was never bored.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt that the jobs I was given at PwC were level to that of an Associate and so I really valued the experience and insight that was offered to me. Being given tasks that actively contributed to the work of the teams I was in really helped me learn quickly and helped me build strong relationships with my team members.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the skills I developed and the training I received during my internship will be invaluable in my graduate career. Not only did I become more confident and adept at using software bespoke to PwC and software used globally by companies, but I learnt and developed people skills that I will use throughout my career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was fun and relaxed at all times and people were available for guidance at any point during my internship.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • PwC has a great resourcing department and so from the beginning of my internship I had work booked weeks in advance. Social events were also well planned and I was kept informed and updated throughout the internship regarding key dates and details.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt that PwC really invested in me during my internship by taking the time to coach me effectively on the job. This means that if I return as a graduate it will be a lot easier for me to get started and integrate into the office.

  • There were plently of social events for interns and PwC employees to engage in and this was a highlight for me personally. The only drawback was that with many of the interns on different jobs and some working out of the office it was hard at times to get everyone together.
