About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. Despite being only two days long, it was packed with a large amount of information and great detailed insight into how PwC work. I enjoyed learning about assurance and tax and the networking opportunities were very well thought of as well. I would love to take part in a similar event in the future.
I did feel very valued, firstly due to the large expense PwC took to have me and fellow 西瓜视频s there, including the overnight accommodation and meals. In addition, passing all the tests to get in was a great feeling of accomplishment. Group discussions allowed us to pursue our own thought process and provide our own opinions which I thought was very genuine and authentic.
Despite not having much initial guidance in terms of where to meet etc, there was a good amount of guidance throughout almost all of the tasks, with facilitators ready to help us through it if we did not understand it. I think this was very good and in future could be even more supported so people from a less financial background could get more involved. Nevertheless it was very well thought of and commendable.
The skills I developed will assist me in my degree studies as well as future internships or graduate placements. I would love to work for PwC after this and the information received regarding CV and the PwC Professional highlights exactly what they would expect from me, so I now know exactly what to work on over the next year.
The Company
The insight was very well structured. A large amount of information and tasks were fit into two days, without having to rush anything. Everything had a set time and I learnt fast and got to know new people quickly too. Everything started on time also, there was no delay or mishap in the organisation of it.
The general atmosphere during the insight was excellent. There was a good mix between working and socialising/networking. This gave us a chance to work and then enjoy and get to know fellow 西瓜视频s with similar ambitions. The dinner with PwC partners was especially great, as this allowed us to connect with senior staff who would be interviewing us in the future.
In terms of personal training and development, the firm invested a great deal in all of us, in terms of time and expenses. We had to sit a range of tests and an interview prior to the academy, and throughout the academy, all meals and accommodation was paid for by PwC, which made it feel like an honour to attend and participate.
The insight helped me to understand quite clearly what it would be like to have a full time role within the company. We carried out slightly simplified versions of daily tasks and got a very good insight by current associates on how they work and what tasks they carry out daily.
The insight helped a lot in understanding the work hard play hard culture of the company, with the five attributes of the PwC professional being key in everyday life at the firm. We understood how career progression is possible and what the next step would be in wanting to pursue a career with the firm.
The content of the day was very valuable in helping me decide on my future career path. I am very much keen to participate in the Summer Internship for PwC now and I would love to work for a company such as themselves. It made me aware of exactly what they look for in future graduates.
Everything Else
We were provided with an expenses claim form, and will be reimbursed within the next week or so.
Yes, there were ample opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company. Throughout the day we had plenty of opportunities to talk to various level staff and gain insight, and the dinner on Wednesday evening allowed us to interact with Partners from all locations.
The networking and social event opportunities were very good. There was a mix of people and we received free drink tokens so we could socialize and enjoy the evening prior to dinner. We then had various breaks where we could interact as well as the meal times where we could talk to fellow 西瓜视频s.
Yes, PwC employees can receive various discounts such as gym membership and many events are held such as plays and sports events, by PwC staff with them all participating. There were charity events and 45 hours a year of voluntary work which all members of PwC can participate in thoroughly.
Yes, I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend. It is an excellent insight into the financial word of professional services and allows you to know exactly how work like ,social life etc will be at the company when joining. The tasks were varied and greatly thought of, I very much enjoyed it all.
