    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very enjoyable experience with a range of likeminded peers from different places and backgrounds. It provided a great insight into not only the areas of tax and assurance but also into the nature of the firm. This involved interactive sessions and meeting many partners and directors from different locations across the country.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The hotel room and the organisation of the event alone were enough to show that PwC really value us. It is clear the firm invests in the future with 西瓜视频s being that future. We were also constantly reminded of this. Directors and partners also took time out of their busy schedules to answer any questions we had.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There was plenty of opportunity for us to ask as many questions as we needed to. The programme itself provided plenty of insight to support us in our decision into whether we wanted to join the firm in the future and if so what service line would be best for us.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • In terms of the skills learned in the areas of assurance and tax, although it was very useful to see a practical approach, we were quite limited to what technical skills we could develop. However the most important skill we developed throughout the whole experience is networking skills, which are so important in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The timetable was excellently constructed with no gaps but also with not too much of an overload. We were constantly busy but were given plenty of breaks and given lots of time to network with not only each other but also PwC partners and directors. There wasn't one session which overran, ensuring the timetable was consistently followed throughout.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was a friendly yet professional atmosphere throughout. With ice-breakers from the start it was easy to get to know everyone involved while the PwC associates, partners and directors were extremely approachable. With everyone being there out of their own interest it created a positive and exciting atmosphere too. The way everybody communicated made the whole process seem so professional and valuable.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Of course in a hotel it wasn't possible to get the full experience of having a role in the company as we weren't in an actual office with real tasks to carry out. Despite this we were given a good insight into the types of work we would be able to undertake while the PwC people were very good at creating a picture of what it would be like for us to work for the firm.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It was immediately obvious what PwC looks for in all of its employees, not just during the recruitment process. The firm are very focuses on ensuring everyone develops throughout their time with them once joining. It was also clear that everyone is valued equally and that the firm has a very friendly but professional culture in order to provide the best quality for its clients.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Although I was already fairly sure that it was assurance not tax that I wanted to pursue in the future, each of two afternoons was dedicated to either assurance or tax. For me this consolidated my choice but for others who were unsure it was very helpful to show which line of service would be most suited to them. We were also informed how there would be opportunity in the future to explore different service lines if desired.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • When we first arrived we were given a pack which had a form we could fill in to have all travel expenses reimbursed. PwC also paid for all of us involved to stay the night at the hotel where the event was based. Although we weren't paid for our involvement, this wasn't expected anyway. We were paid in terms of the value of the experience and the guidance and support we received helping us to develop as professionals

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Throughout both days there were many associates, partners and directors present from various backgrounds, service lines and locations for us to network with. They answered any question we had and provided us with guidance over the future regarding our careers. There was also a formal meal in the evening with partners and directors which created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where we had so much opportunity to network.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We were informed of many opportunities employees can get involved with. There's a day each year completely dedicated to charity events and volunteering in order to give back to the community. Charitable work is also supported by PwC throughout the year. Overseas secondments are also available if employees have an ambition to travel, allowing them to work in locations abroad for PwC.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Every element of the experience was brilliant. It was insightful in terms of what the business is like to work for and the sorts of work involved in PwC. The event was excellently organised with a variety of interesting sessions and networking opportunities provided. It was also fun to get to know similar people in the same position from around the country and the hospitality in the hotel was very enjoyable too!
