Environmental Sustainability
Our Climate is changing.
Rising temperatures and sea levels, localised extreme weather events, deforestation and the associated disappearance of species and natural habitats are causing changes to the planet and our way of life. The Higher Education Sector contributes to this problem with a footprint of 1.78m tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, the generation of 416,000 tonnes of waste and consumption of 7.8 TWh of energy.
At Harper Adams, we recognise we have a role to play to ensure that our impact on the environment is managed and reduced as far as possible and that small changes can make a big difference. Our environmental sustainability vision is to make a positive impact through outstanding environmental sustainability performance in our governance, teaching and research, collaborations with industry and day to day operations.
