About You
Enjoyed the experience alot had the opportunity to network with other Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs as well as BP employees which was valuable as it gave me an insight into what a BP employee does, how they got to where they are now.
To a good extent, as BP values its partnership and collaborating programmes as they understand this makes Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs realise how a working environment is different to that at university and also we where given the opportunity to do task that an employee would also have to do on a daily basis
I received advice, on CV writing by professionals in that sector, on interview preparation, application preparation as well as advice on how to plan and execute a good presentation. Also information on the application process for a job, internship, graduate scheme and much more
It made me realize that collaborating with others is very important and inclusion is vital in any situation for instance when faced with a problem to solve, Also, the experience inspired time to definitely consider applying for another programme at BP in the future. Provided a good starting stepping stone into the business
The Company
Very well organised and alot of activities. Did overrun in most cases but that was due to allowing more time to be spent on activities
It was incredibly friendly! Everyone was very nice and really made an effort to make us all feel comfortable and welcomed. Networking had to be the best part of the night because we really got to see so many people from across the firm, with different levels of experience. Everyone from the most senior to the newest starters were keen to talk to us
They really went out of their way to inform us about the application process and what they were looking for in potential candidates. At the same time they really helped give us tips and hints on how to perform well in the recruitment process.
I spent the best part of an hour talking to a grad schemer, who really explained the role, her experience, the best and worst parts of the role. It was a real eye opener and she really did sell the firm to me
It was extremely helpful! Seeing all these people from around the firm at the end, all there to talk to you and engage with you was proof enough that it's an extremely welcoming and friend,y place to work. The hierarchy is flat in the firm, you spend time talking to anyone, and it's usually the seniors that will reach out to you and ask you how you're doing.
It was really helpful in understanding the industry, and what roles are available in the firm. It's a firm I'd definitely like to apply to because of it's amazing culture, and the great time I've had.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for all my travel to and from the event.
During the day we had a presentation from a site director which opened in to a Q & A session regarding how she has developed her future. We then had similar presentations from graduates and had a networking lunch meeting other employees of the company.
The networking opportunities were excellent with the different prospectives you could ask different questions regarding
We were given some details regarding the activates outside of the work place but not the full range of activities due to the structure of the day.
Definitely would recommend to anyone that wished to pursue a job within this field.
