About You
It was a really valuable opportunity to learn about the firm, it's really important knowing that BP is spread out over a large global arena and has important contacts and assets worldwide making it the largest provider of heat and light to the world!
They had clearly put effort into running the day and getting current employees to come along and talk about what they do, so seemed like they were keen
It was incredibly helpful! They all made an effort to make us feel incredibly comfortable throughout the day, introduce us to other grad schemers, hear about their experiences, and also receive some advice and tips on applications and also about the key aspects of their role at the firm.
Definitely helped to know the sort of things they are looking for when I apply to an internship Made me realise the wide range of jobs available at BP, which were different to those I would initially think of
The Company
It was quite well structured. It was incredibly helpful to have a trading game to understand what goes on in IST in a simplified way. It was also a great bonding opportunity to get to know the other grad schemers, and apply our existing knowledge behind it.
Good, all BP employees seemed more than happy to help and answer any questions, were made to feel welcome and shown where everything we would need is. Had some activities as well as just receiving information so the day was enjoyable
They really went out of their way to inform us about the application process and what they were looking for in potential candidates. At the same time they really helped give us tips and hints on how to perform well in the recruitment process.
I spent the best part of an hour talking to a grad schemer, who really explained the role, her experience, the best and worst parts of the role. It was a real eye opener and she really did sell the firm to me
It was extremely helpful! Seeing all these people from around the firm at the end, all there to talk to you and engage with you was proof enough that it's an extremely welcoming and friend,y place to work. The hierarchy is flat in the firm, you spend time talking to anyone, and it's usually the seniors that will reach out to you and ask you how you're doing.
It was really helpful in understanding the industry, and what roles are available in the firm. It's a firm I'd definitely like to apply to purely because of it's amazing culture, and the great time I've had.
Everything Else
Lunch provided, travel expenses to the site provided, received free BP hoodie
There were talks from both graduates and higher up specialists and managers which were extremely insightful!
Really great, everyone was willing to answer questions and there were plenty of people to talk to.
Many of the sites that BP has, have gyms or outdoor activities that you can get involved in. Also, it is possible to get involved in campus teams as an employee which I thought would be brilliant.
The experience is fantastic and will definitely sway you if you're unsure as to whether to apply or not.
