About You
The insight was fun yet informative, providing Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs with a taste of what BP offer. At no point did it feel challenging or stressful.
The day was planned out extremely well, utilizing the available time extremely well. The environment was friendly and welcoming, beginning with a series of ice breaker exercises followed by a fun game to get us all thinking. Later on we were shown around the headquarters and met with different people.
A good portion of the insight day was dedicated towards the internship application process and interviews. We were given clear tips on how to approach each situation.
I don't feel what I learned would help my degree directly. However when applying for internships and other such opportunities, the knowledge I have gained during the day will benefit me greatly.
The Company
The day had a very clear structure, making use of every minute I was there.
The general atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.
BP were focused on teaching us how to apply for internships and how to conduct ourselves during interviews.
Despite being told by the employees what working for BP is like, I wasn't able to make a solid judgement as to what it would be like for me to work for them.
A lot, BP were transparent in this regard telling us what the relationship between employees is like, showing us how they work alongside each other and taking us through the offices to show the environment in which they work.
Unfortunately I'm still undecided as to what career path I would like to go into, even though this event was greatly useful in showing me what a career with BP would be like.
Everything Else
I have been told I will be reimbursed for my expenses, however during the time of writing this feedback, I was not reimbursed my expenses.
Yes, during lunch and throughout the day we were able to sit and talk with the employees and discuss any queries we had.
They weren't explicitly networking opportunities, but good.
Yes, we were told about extracurricular activities the employees partake in such as rugby.
Yes I would, it would provide said friend with a clear idea of what BP can offer them and provide them with useful skills for internship applications and interviews.
