About You
Had great experience of meeting recent graduates and interns who provided some great advice to become an intern in one of the biggest oil refineries.
Overnight accommodation was provided and there was great support given before the insight day. They made me aware that there was a free shuttle bus that was provided by the company, so it was easier for me to get to the headquarters.
There was enough information for us to know what was going to happen, when it was going to happen and where will each event be taking place. They also provided an excess amount of lunch so that everyone there had enough food to satisfy themselves.
I have gained a greater knowledge in the drilling sector of BP, focusing on the Shah Deniz in Azerbaijan. I was introduced to many of real life equipment that I may be handling in the future. Moreover, it gave me a great feeling of the working conditions in the company.
The Company
The insight day was properly structured and well time. Everything started and ended when it is supposed to be (according to the information given in the introduction).
The people in the company were enthusiastic, energetic and approachable which enhances the overall atmosphere during the insight.
There was an interview workshop.
They introduced us to control room simulators that replicates the control room atmosphere and condition in the oil refinery.
A brief introductory power point slide was presented.
The enthusiastic people who showed us around the simulators and the equipment kept on talking about the job roles.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed all travel and overnight accommodation expenses.
We had lunch with the BP staff and had a conference with recent BP interns and graduates.
The only networking opportunity was during lunch where they served abundant food to serve everyone well.
They have more things to do other than working, such as field trips, sport events and nights out.
