About You
The whole insight was very well structured and planned, and I was given a great opportunity to be guided around the company building, and to talk to a range of employees there, which helped a lot with my understanding of typical roles within BP, and also the oil&gas industry.
The insight day was mainly delivered by BP's employees, and so I did not have much chance to raise my own opinions.
The application process to BP was explained carefully, and also advice on interviews were given, and so the guidance/support I received were at a high level.
I have gained much more information of the typical roles and work involved in the job, and also the opportunities involved in the future. I also got the chance to demonstrate my interview skills, and got advice on them.
The Company
The whole insight day was very well structured, and the schedule was given in the beginning of the event, and the day followed the structure planned very well.
Everyone was very kind and very willing to talk and share their ideas during the day.
General information on the application process and interviews was given to all the audience, but there was not much personal training involved.
Through the chats I had with different employees throughout the day, I have gained more insights into the work environment and roles in BP.
I became to understand more about BP's culture through talking with the employees, and knowing the values of BP, but the culture itself was not specifically explained to us.
The insight day has given me more information on typical roles and work within the company, and so has helped to decide on my future career path.
Everything Else
Travel expenses are going to be reimbursed after I submit my expenses claim form.
I had a great time during the networking lunch with the employees at BP, where everyone was free to stand and walk around while having the lunch, and so a great chance to meet different people.
The networking/social event opportunities, especially during the networking lunch were very valuable.
Several activities available outside work were mentioned by the recent graduate employees.
I would definitely recommend this insight day opportunity to any of my friends in the future, as it has been a very valuable and meaningful day for me, from where I have learned a lot.
