The Role
I very much enjoyed my work as I was given a variety of projects.
I always felt very valued and was regularly asked to complete some of their tasks and to present this to their stakeholders
Both my supervisor and line manager were great- we had weekly catch up meetings to review how I was doing in terms of objectives and the work I was doing
Had plenty to get on with and never felt bored due to objectives that needed to be met for assessment. Having said this the balance was perfect as never felt over-work or stressed etc
I had a fair amount of responsibility being trusted that my work was correct and presenting this to stakeholders.
Developed skills in analytical tools such as Excel, Business objects, Tableau and the in-house tool. The technical knowledge I have gained will help me complete my dissertation and other modules in this area and will enable me to have a more practical view point when discussing these subjects
The Company
The office is quite quiet and everyone gets on with their work. Having said this there is still a friendly atmosphere and everyone is happy for you to ask them questions
Exceptionally well organised- from application to end of internship! I couldn't fault this aspect!
I feel I have developed massively on the back of completing an internship. My team were willing to help me and give me guidance as to best practices with the work i was doing. Also other category teams were also happy to give me an hour of their time to give me an introduction into what they do. Centrally BP also offered presentation training.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Financial Bonus
I completed an assessment interview at the end of the placement with my supervisor, line manger and an independent assessor.
The Culture
If you live close to everyone else then someone is usually organizing something. However, I made the mistake of booking halls away from everyone else which meant commuting after a night out was a nightmare
West london- so above average prices, but not too bad. I lived in Brunel halls £140 p/w and St. Marys Twickenham £ 171 p/w (St marys was a much better location and would recommenced here if you get placed in sunbury/bedfont offices)
Head into London for nightlife!
yes: - curry night at an local Indian restaurant. - rounders -summer bbq
