About You
The BP wells discovery was very well planned and i learned a lot about being a drilling engineer.
Very valued as the global director of rig engineering and UK head of grad recruitment were there, even though there was only about 20 Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs.
All my questions about the industry were answered.
As it was a discovery day I didn't develop skills, but now have a better understanding of well engineering,
The Company
Very well structured
All the bp employees I met were very relaxed and enjoyed talking with us. Many said they very much enjoy working with interns.
If I were to work as a drilling engineer, all drilling licenses and offshore survival training would be paid for by bp.
I now know what it would be like to be a drilling engineer at bp as we spoke to many drilling/completion engineers and graduates who also explained a typical day at the office or on the rig.
Everyone on a BP site around the world must hold handrails while walking up or down stairs as if you're on a rig. They made us do it as well, so i would say that safety is always their top priority!
I would now very much consider becoming a drilling engineer.
Everything Else
Before attending we were given information on how to book travel to the event. I know that many even took flights to Heathrow from within the UK or stayed overnight at a nearby holiday inn so bp was investing heavily in us undergrads.
Yes, many senior drilling engineers/ graduates were there. There was also staff from bp international.
We ate lunch with the global rig director, so very good.
I think there are some but these weren't mentioned.
Yes
