About You
I found the discovery day very helpful and interesting. It gave me insight into what it would be like to work for BP.
Everyone was so helpful and willing to share their experiences while we were there.
The staff were very supportive with any problems we had when organising transport to get there and with any problems we had during the day.
I now have insight into what the oil industry is like and I feel like this will help when deciding on placement and job opportunities,
The Company
Is was a well planned out day with lots of activities. One thing I would say is that the talks from staff and graduates could have been broken up with an activity in the middle.
The ice breakers, although a little strange, worked so well at eating everyone to chat. Staff were friendly and very easy to talk to and ask questions.
Not completely relevant to the Discovery Day but they were very interested in showing us what it would be like to work for them.
There is only so much that can be shown in a day but they made use of the time and tried it give us an overall picture.
This is difficult to do without working there for a few days but I now have a rough idea of what it is Ike.
Everything Else
All my travel was paid for prior to going and then we were given an expenses form which was easy to fill out and had to be emailed back to the company.
During lunch we had the chance to talk to people in the graduate scheme and staff that had worked their for a number if years,
I found it very helpful and interesting to hear about how staff got started within the company and how they progressed. There is so much opportunity to try different things and there are so many career paths.
We did not hear much about this but I feel like this could have been useful.
Yes, I wound the day very interesting and insightful.
