It was great to see a snapshot of how a multinational company operates. There was a good mix of presentations from both experienced employees and also more recent graduates. The event was varied in that we got to see different sections of the facility, played an energy related team building game and were given guidance on application techniques.

From start to finish I was made to feel welcome. Everyone was very friendly and gave their time to answer any questions or have a general chat about life at BP. The group were provided a great lunch too!

There was a varied selection of presentations from within different areas of BP. In addition there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

This opportunity helped more to gain an idea of the areas within BP that may be a potential for the future. There was not a huge develop new skills, although interview and application tips were covered and these will be useful for trying to secure a job.

The day was very well organised and run. There was a schedule given out at the beginning of the event outlining the plan for the day. Everything ran to time and went smoothly from start to finish. Although this was out with the control of the organisers, it would have been interesting to be able to have a chat with workers on an oil platform but they were busy at the time.

The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

There was not much opportunity for training or development since this insight was only a day long. However, to hold the event in the first place and pay for all the participants to travel to BP's premises and have many of their top engineers take part shows that they are serious about looking after possible future employees.

Hearing accounts from employees on what working at BP is like was useful. It would have been good to see first hand what some of the employees at that site were working on in a bit more depth.

The way the BP facility was set out showed that they care about their employees working environment. In addition it is obvious that safety is a mindset in the company. Speaking to different people on the day helped me to see what the company are about to.

Plenty of employees were around on the day and were happy to chat about their experiences within the company.

The networking opportunities on the day were great.

It was clear that life outside of work is important at BP however specifics were not really covered on the day.

For sure. This was useful to find out what it would be like to work for BP and where you would fit in.
