About You
It was very enjoyable to get to know more about the oil and gas industry through a business simulation event.
Everyone at BP was welcoming and polite.
There were current employees of BP to help during the event. There were also presentations on different aspects of the oil and gas industry that also really helped me learn.
It doesn't help with my degree studies but it gave me plenty of soft skills development such as communication, confidence etc.
The Company
The event was structured and organised very well.
The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were vibrant and did not mind having fun.
This was only a 3 day event but all expenses were paid for by BP.
The insight was helpful because I spoke to a member of BP that was doing a chemistry role (which is the subject that I currently study). I gained a lot of information on what it is like to work at BP and it was very positive.
The insight definitely helped me understand the company culture, everyone was very kind and polite.
The content was valuable because I found what what chemists can do at BP and there are a wide variety of potential careers at BP.
Everything Else
BP reimbursed all my travel expenses and the hotel.
There were a number of current BP employees willing to talk to me about their jobs and they also gave out their contact details if there were any future questions.
There was a free bar and there was plenty of time to network and socialize.
There are plenty of other opportunities such as sports clubs, gym and socials outside of work.
Definitely, it is a fantastic insight and I learnt so much about the oil and gas industry and just how complex and fast paced it is.
