About You
I thought the day was excellent, good variety of speakers and people available to talk to and a good variety of activities throughout the day
I thought all the speakers were very encouraging and seemed genuinely keen to help and answer any questions.
Talking to the current graduates was excellent as it provided a more informal opportunity to find out more about BP and what a potential job or placement would entail.
The main advice from the graduates was to really understand the fundamental concepts and core subjects and everything will fall in place from there.
The Company
I think the morning was a long time to sit still and listen, it would have been nice to get out and about a bit more and see more of the offices and find out what more senior people do day to day.
The atmosphere was excellent, very laid back, relaxed and friendly. The games were good and the tours were good.
I thought the trips the ACE suite and HIVE were excellent parts of the day and provided real insight to how the oil and gas industry has evolved.
I think the lunchtime chat and presentation from the graduates was excellent and provided more detail and personal accounts of what it was like to work there and the experiences they had gained.
Their is a culture of safety of BP and that is clear by walking around and chatting to the employees. There is also a friendly and supportive culture and this was expressed by the current graduates.
I would definitely be keen to apply to an internship next year.
Everything Else
My travel expenses were paid by BP upfront which is ideal.
Yes the lunch meeting was very good. The tour also allowed opportunity to speak to more senior level engineers.
The graduates were very helpful in answering questions about the application process and their day to day jobs and any beneficial experiences they had gained being offshore etc.
The graduates organise trips and outings as a group.
It was a great day and provided great insight into BP and the oil and gas industry in general.
