About You
The discovery day involved a whole range of activities and provided an excellent opportunity to meet other like-minded Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs
I felt really well accommodated from before I arrived to when I left.
The tour around the labs were very well described and a lot of detail was provided in the presentation. Interview and application guidance was also very valuable.
I feel much more confident about applying to both BP and other oil and gas companies after participating in the discovery day.
The Company
The activities were very varied and provided a good insight into many different areas within the subsurface area.
The office atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were very friendly.
They offered a lot of advice with regards to applying to their company and how to do well in interviews/assessment centres.
The graduate speakers provided very in-depth descriptions of their experience in the company and gave a good picture of what it would be like to work in BP.
The opportunity to speak with the BP employees and see them interact with each other really helped me understand the company culture and beliefs.
I feel that I have a very good understanding of the type of work the subsurface area of BP involve and certainly helped me realise if it was what I want to do.
Everything Else
All travel expenses and accommodation was covered by BP.
The lunch time break provided an opportunity to network with and meet both employees and other Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs on the Discovery Day programme.
The lunch networking opportunity was very informal and set in a very relaxed atmosphere. Coupled with the friendliness of the employees, it was very easy to speak to them and ask questions.
There weren't a lot of information given about activities outside of work, but these could be asked during the social opportunities.
It was a very informative day and anyone with any interest in oil and gas would find this event beneficial.
