About You
Great Experience, the STEM conference was designed in a really imaginative way- we had a world simulation of an Oil and Gas Company, which really helped further my insight into how exploration and production works.
All the grads and staff were really friendly and keen to offer insights and advice
Could have had a bit more explanation with regards to the simulation for the first year, as we had no knowledge of what was 'acceptable' for a bid, however we quickly picked up tactics and they did review thoroughly after each session. Grads always on hand to help out
Helpful for giving insight into oil and gas operations. Skills enhanced include group work and presentational skills.
The Company
Could have split simulations over the three days rather than 2, allowing more time to prepare presentations.
Great experience, definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the event
Showed us how to use simulation briefly but generally left to do it ourselves. However, this made the whole experience more fun as we learnt as we went along and made mistakes!
Very useful for the areas of exploration and production, however more information could have been given on commercial aspects e.g trading. However, wide range of grads who provided more information
Demonstrated that they are very employee aware
Useful pamphlets on grad scheme
Everything Else
Lots of grads and staff who were happy to answer any questions
Working lunches and dinners allowed time to chat
Mainly told about social side, would be good to get more info on things like charity work
Definitely, it helped increase my understanding of how the company operates and the networking opportunities have meant that any questions I couldn't get answered on the day, I can email the relevant groups for help
