About You
Meeting graduates to find out what they actually did for their day to day job. I got a good impression that they were enjoying their work.
By putting in so much effort to send me to a discovery day I felt the company valued potential recruits.
I was able to ask lots of questions and had a lot of time dedicated to making sure all my questions were answered.
It gave me a good insight about working at BP as a potential future career.
The Company
The day was very well planned, but still allowed time for questions.
There was a positive helpful atmosphere.
n/a - It was only a 1 day event, they did give some interview tips though.
Fairly well - It would have been nice to have actually been sent to the department related to my degree, rather than a general overview - but this is asking a lot for a 1 day taster.
Through meeting graduates as well as managers I think this gave me a good insight into company culture. Company values were also discussed.
It was really useful to find out what was going on behind the scenes of the recruitment and why they were not recruiting in my area at the moment. I would have applied if there had been a vacancy.
Everything Else
I was meant to be reimbursed for expenses, however, a month after the event I have still not recieved a reimbursement yet.
Yes - Meeting graduates was really helpful.
It was good to meet graduates over lunch.
All case study style presentations on employees roles and projects also included some social aspect involved with the company.
Yes - better for earlier undergraduates.
