The Role
The internship was very valuable in helping to learn about the industry and expand on my skill set - I learnt a few new programs in the space of a few weeks.
I was welcomed in a professional manner and included in all team activities, even when I could offer little input.
My supervisors were always available to help me and so easy to approach for advice and guidance
A mix of both very busy and not so busy periods due to availability of licenses for certain programs which slowed the entire process down
I was given the flexibility to design and run my own thesis project to my strengths in line with the company needs.
The work was very practical, putting theory learnt at university to use in a way you cant do in a classroom.
The Company
Great atmosphere in the office. It was the perfect balance of informal, making it easy to ask for help, and formal, helping to keep everybody focused on the tasks at hand
Due to having a unique start date, the beginning was a bit unorganised however throughout the internship everything was seamless.
A lot of time and effort was invested in me by my own team and also externals such as management to ensure myself and other interns were getting the best possible learning experience.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I got a job with them and accepted.
The Culture
Events were organised for all of the interns, and the interns themselves then organised independently.
Aberdeen is cheap compared to the London prices I am used to
Excellent bars and clubs all within walking distance of each other are key to a good night out!
Could have been more team activities outside of work
