The Role
I really enjoyed my time at BP. I was given a really interesting project that the team will continue to work on now I have left, due to my results.
My colleagues were all very friendly and helpful to me. They were interested in my project and were keen to give me feedback in order to help me for my future career.
My supervisor was exceptionally helpful to me. Although he was away for some part of my internship, he ensured there was always someone there for me to speak to in case I needed assistance or advice.
I was busy on a daily basis, but I like that! I was able to fit in lunches with other interns and set up meetings to learn more about the company (outside of my project and team).
I was given a lot of responsibility and I have been asked to come back to present a workshop on my project to 200 people!
From my experience, I have gained skills that I will use for the rest of my life. The main skill I developed was presenting to a variety of people from different backgrounds. The analytical skills I developed will also help me in the future.
The Company
Everyone in the team were busy and keen to produce good results for the company.
Very well thought through.
Someone was brought in from outside the company to specifically help us with presentation skills, which I found very useful. More sessions like this would have been great!
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Yet to find out if I got a job, fingers crossed!
The Culture
Yes, but people lived all over London so it was hard to meet up unless it was straight after work. Really nice people that I would want to socialise with though.
Around London, so not that cheap. However I lived at home, so living costs for me were basically free!
I didn't go out much during my internship, but a train ride to Central London would have taken me to some great clubs (albeit a tad expensive)!
Yes, but not enough sports teams for women as I would have liked!!
