The Role
I loved it! Would definitely reccomend it to anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in the Energy Industry
The whole company is based around a set of core values, one of which is about working as "One Team". This certainly came across throughout the summer and everyone I worked with was very willing to accept me into the team and support the work I was doing.
The support from everyone in my team was great! Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and very willing to help me out whenever it was required.
The job I had was really interesting and at a good level. Challenging, but not at a level where I ever felt completely out of my depth.
I feel the level of responsibility I was given was ideal for an internship. I felt that the work I was doing was valued in the team and at no point did I feel like that my work was useless. I also never got the impression that I was "running the show" as the whole attitude around the office was very team based with everyone helping each other out.
The placement gave me a great insight into how the Oil and Gas industry works which will no doubt be very useful in the future. It also helped me to develop my inter-personal and teamworking skills and my techincal skills as an Engineer. This will benefit me in my further studies and future career.
The Company
The atmosphere around the office was great! It was fairly relaxed but at the same time everyone was still focussed on getting the job done efficiently and to a highstandard
I had no issues at all with how the internship was organised.
The company did not invest a great deal of money into training for the interns in terms of techincal training courses etc. However it more than made up for it with the time and support that they offered.

The internship is assesed with the potential of a job offer once you have finished. At the moment I haven't heard whether i have been succesfull or not but I would definitely accept a job if it was offered!
The Culture
There was a large group of interns staying together so there were frequent nights out and social events.
The placement was in Aberdeen which is a fairly expensive city in terms of living costs.
The Aberdeen nightlife is pretty good with lots of good pubs and bars. The club scene isn't amazing but it's good enough for a good night out.
There were a lot of social events organised amongst the interns. There was also potential to join in with activities through work such as 5-a-side football and golf.
