The Role
Was given up to date meaningful work. Would have liked a little more exposure to the industry i.e. site visits
Always asked opinions
Always someone on hand to help me with any issues, everyone always offered to help
Work started quickly with periods of being very busy. Slowed down towards the end
Given exposure to a contemporary dataset with responsibility to deliver on certain objectives
Will be returning to BP next year and so was a great introduction to working within the company
The Company
Mixture of ages, tended to only have work related conversations with some of the older staff
Very structured. Having done another internship in the past, this was quite noticeable
Time spent with industry specialists, advice e.t.c.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Have a place on the grad scheme
The Culture
Group of interns shared accomodation at local university over summer so there was a lot of social events within the group
Accomodation not cheap, expensive to get into London to do anything, local area in Surrey relatively inexpensive
No night life in the area I worked, would have to venture into London for that. Nightlife in London is excellent just comes with a hefty price tag as is expected
There were events organised outside of work, often any clubs/societies would have to be researched to find out about and join
