The Role
Enjoyable atmosphere and work envrionment. Friendly and welcoming collegues. Interesting technical project that was both educational and challenging.
Felt like a member of a team envrionment. Able to contribute to future development. Collegues saw the value in my work. Involved in team activities and socials. Lots of other interns that formed a good group.
Good support by my supervisor, offering guidance and coaching. Allowed me the freedom to develop the project.
Relatively busy because I had my own project to complete, so there was always work to be completed to further progress.
Given my own project to manage and complete. Responsible for producing the deliverables.
Learnt a wide range of new skills not neccessarily offered at my current degree level. Developed both technical and non-technical skills. Allowed for an application of the skills and foundations that I had learnt through my degree. The skills learnt from the internship will be valuable in my future career.
The Company
Dull at times, but plenty of other interns and young graduates. Team cakes every other friday.
Well organised. Scheme and structure to the placement.
Invested significant time, with supervisor and other professional spending their time for assessments and feedback. Provided opportunities for self-development workshops.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Appleaing. Highly rated graduate scheme, with very good training.
The Culture
Good social scene with other interns. Always something going on at the weekend.
Aberdeen is not that cheap, due to the wealth generated by the oil industry. However, it is is cheaper than London.
Nothing special, but a range of choice.
Five-a-side football. Intern trips. BBQ.
