The Role
The day was anjoyabler and informative. The only negative aspect was that there was a large focus on upstream and exploration work performed by BP, but very little on the downstream and chemicals sectors. As the majority of people attending that day were chemical engineers, we were all expecting a focus on the latter two sectors, as they are the sectors we are all interested in.
Although only a part of the day involved interaction with the other Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs, we got on well. The icebreaker exercises were light hearted and a good introduction, and the Energy Challenge game also provided an enjoyable team work exercise.
The day was very well co-ordinated. Everything was well explained and plenty of time was allocated for each activity.
The day was filled but sufficient time for breaks was given.
No responsibility was given, but neither was any expected. The purpose of the day was primarily information.
Some of the topics covered were useful just for my general knowledge of the oil and gas industry, but not as relevant as they could have been. More downstream and chemical sector speakers would have been an improvement.
The Company
The atmosphere was light hearted but suitably serious when necessary.
I could not find fault with the organisation of the day.
Plenty of time was allocated for meeting and talking with speakers and representatives.
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
I would like to work for BP, but the highly competitive nature of the jobs mean I cannot claim to have great prospects.
The Culture
Everyone at the event was pleasant and a good time seemed to be had by all.
Not really applicable. Travel and food was paid for.
