The Role
It was an interesting day although due to the shortness there could have been a lot more packed in! However I think the placement is a really unique and original opportunity!
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming
We were supported by an intern and various senior members of her team throughout the day
There could have been a few more things packed into the day but it was great to finish earl as it meant we avoided rush hour!
This isn't applicable, we weren't given any independent projects but our intern seemed to have a lot of responsibility and she had modified the aims of her project and changed them to suit what she was finding so she seemed to have a lot of freedom.
Definitely interesting to see how the science I am studying can be applied in real life.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly, it seemed like a great working environment.
Generally good although there were a couple of pauses in the day when we didn't have much to do.
They invested a lot of time from the various business reps that took the time to come and speak to us and answer our questions about the work they do.
I think the future prospects were very appealing, they take a whole range of science and other discipline graduates.
The Culture
There seemed to be, more so than in any other company I have done a placement with!
Not applicable as I didn't live there but the intern I was shadowing had managed to arrange some very cheap accommodation as the offices are not in central london.
I didn't get to see this myself but I was told it was good!
We didn't really get a chance to find out about this but there seemed to be some sports club that ran and a discounted gym membership was available.
