The Role
Great fun, really enjoyed my project. The set up by HR department worked well and there was plenty of other interns so socials were great!
It was amazing, there was one week where most of them left for Angola and I felt lost!
He was really good; although clearly very busy I was always able to talk to himabout any problems I was having.
Fairly busy, although not like a headless chicken. It varied from week to week depending on my project but I had the perfect amount of time available.
I was incharge of an entire project, although the project itself only made a small amount of difference to working practices the people involved made it clear how important it was in the long term.
It was very handy, not only in the technical aspects of learning computer programming properly but having never worked in a office previously the experience was definitely worthwhile.
The Company
Really good, people were very busy at times but there were a number of socials arranged which allowed everyone to unwind.
It was really well set up, having been posted to London over the Olympics they helped out with accommodation which was priceless, everything was set up for me as I arrived, so much so that I turned up to the office and my laptop was waiting for me ready to log in.
Due to how busy I was with my project there wasn't a huge amount of time to visit other sites or attend extra training although some other interns did. Any development that I needed for my work was catered for though.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Really good, I have an assessment centre tomorrow so fingers crossed!
The Culture
There was a really good social aspect to the internship, organised by the interns aswell. Certain events were organised centrally aswell so this was very welcome.
London's pretty expensive and although we were in Halls they were in Kensington so that made things pretty pricey.
In Sunbury (where the office is) the nightlife is pretty well non-existant although we were living a little further into London so it was a little better.
There was a load of stuff going on, such as dragon boat racing, sports days, socials, sports clubs etc
