    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a really good chance to find out about the industry and the amount that I learnt was unbelievable in only 11 weeks

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was really friendly and willing to help you or take the time out to talk to me about what they do, including senior management

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Lots of help if you seeked it, very much up to you to make the most of it and be proactive but this helps you to get to know more people working on different areas

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Given a good deal of work, have to prioritize the tasks given, again at times it really pays to be proactive when there is less work, reading around the project or the industry in general

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given access to a lot of information and worked on tasks to help the project run more smoothly. My work will provide valuable information to the project and will be used throughout bp in the methodology behind my investigation

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • May not contribute directly as I'm studying a different area but the communication and overview skills will be useful through the rest of my degree and beyond

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Strong work ethic in the office but its very much up to you to do the work. Every one is very friendly and can get to know them over coffee or lunch

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised and there was always someone to talk to if you had any questions

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Allowed days off to visit other offices and learn what they do. Help was available when I was learning a new program. Plenty of opportunities available to improve presentation skills and learn about other discipline topics

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    Healthcare/Dental

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If you perform well during the internship then they should be able to offer you a graduate job for after you finish university

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs/colleagues?
  • A full mix of people, some more social than others, but if you wanted a night out or just some drinks after work then this could easily be done

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The pub across from work was relatively cheap but again nights out would be in London so prices could get fairly high. Highly recommend trying to live with friends or family if you can otherwise the accommodation could be very expensive

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not much around work but its easy to go to various locations around London

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of other activities with other interns in work and depending on the friends you make with the other interns you can do lots of different things

    3/5
