The Role
My mentor who was in charge of my daily activities was awesome. Made working at RBS really enjoyable
The team that i worked with were amazing. From the day i joined they all made an effort to make me feel part of the team.
My mentor was so helpful and always more than willing to help me out with anything.
There were times when i had a lot of work to do but i enjoy working under pressure so it wasn't to bad.
After learning what a needed from my mentor i was left to myself to complete Rec reports.
At university i study Civil engineering so the skills i learnt at RBS (SQL for example) is not very relevant. However, if i am going to follow a career in banking having this skill is very useful.
The Company
When i was working with my mentor i had an amazing time and it was really fun. However, this was not the case all the time as he had his own work to do so it did get quiet at times as the rest of the team were all very busy as well.
I didn't have any problems with my placement from the day i began.
I had to teach myself certain skills, however, the company invested the time of my team and mentor to develop these skills so i could use them to help with projects the team had going on.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to see myself working for RBS in the future.
The Culture
I made some really good friends whilst working at RBS and we went out on a number of occasions. Some of which will be friends for life.
I come from, and go to university in Devon so im use to transport, living and socialising being extremely cheap. Coming to London was a big shock for me but a very good experience.
There are a lot of bars in the area which is great for some quick drinks after work. Clubs on the other hand do exist but are so expensive you might as well just stay in the bar.
There were always emails coming around asking if you wanted to get involved in certain sports such as cricket and football as well as social drinking events after work.
