The Role
Fantastic, great grad and intern scene, with a real sense that the work is worthwhile.
Definitely, I had close co-operation with my team on a day-to-day basis, and my views have been raised to managers and rest of team in 1:1s and team meetings.
Regular weekly and monthly meetings with two superiors means staying in the loop is easy.
Busy mornings, get in for 8.30 solid until 10.00, with that being deadline for payments. Then I have the rest of the day to issue and negotiate claims.
I have my own portfolio of voyages, which it is my responsibility to manage and monitor and have the same level of responsibility as other employees. On top of that I am taking on other projects to get exposure to other business areas.
I wish to return to BP and so the skills and experience I gain, will be of much use to my future career.
The Company
Good mix of colleagues, from the very experienced always willing to help, to the fresher faces in a similar boat. Good grad scene so plenty to do after work
Regular meetings, dinners etc, felt very involved
Able to attend training sessions in other areas, subject to manager approval
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very much want to get on grad scheme
The Culture
Summer and year-long interns mixed a lot. Always getting lunch together and going for drinks after work
Expensive, but thats what I expected and so does everyone
Easy to get around london on tubes, buses, so always something to do
Got to make it happen yourself, so socialise as much or as little as you like!
