    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Although the job itself was fine however the placement was not what was intially promised and some employees were unpleasant.

    1/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Some colleagues valued my knowledge that I had gained throughout the placement and manager's appreciated my help.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management were completely unhelpful, I had to write a placement essay which I received no help with whatsoever.

    1/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were some days were I didn't have a lot to do (especially at the beginning of the placement) however as time progressed I had lots of tasks that I could work on.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was in charge of handling most payroll queries, liaising with payroll and recruitment services. I was also set the task of training Recruitment Services in various ESR- related tasks. As time passed, I was given more and more responsibility and managers contacted me directly when they needed help.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Communicating skills, how to deal with difficult people, assessing a situation

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People were generally quite stressed because there was a lot of organisational change. Also, some of the managers made other people's lives miserable.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was initially supposed to have a full rotating placement set up but that never happened. I was put into workforce information because there was a gap not because it was planned like that.

    1/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My immediate manager trained my on ESR and I received some IT training but most of what I learnt was from being proactive.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Although Papworth Hospital is a very good hospital, HR in Papworth Hospital was a very unpleasant. I'm sure some of the departments would be an excellent place to work.

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Papworth Hospital is located in a village, there were NO other 西瓜视频s however I met some really cool people whilst at Papworth who I still keep in touch with.

    1/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cost of living in Papworth isn't too bad but there is no way to get to Papworth Hospital (the buses are really unreliable) and taxis are upwards of 拢20. Cambridge is the nearest place to go out and that is REALLY expensive.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Papworth Everard has one pub. Cambridge is the nearest place to go out and that is REALLY expensive.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was nothing available.

    1/5
