Provided support on a range of different procurement activities including supplier relationship management, financial analysis of deals, running tenders and sitting in on negotiations with suppliers.

Working in procurement has helped develop my financial analysis skills through working on pricing models for renewals, my stakeholder management skills through having to work with both internal and external stakeholders and also my commercial awareness of the area within procurement that I was working in.

I was giving lots of responsibility from the start of my placement on a range of different projects. I was speaking with external suppliers on a regular basis, engaging with senior stakeholders and given the chance to work on significant and impactful projects from day one that I could see where making a difference at Centrica.

There is a great support structure in place to ensure that you receive ample support and guidance whether that be within the department that you are in for the duration of your placement or the wider emerging talent team.

Throughout the company there is a commitment to helping support the UK's energy transition which gives a great purpose to the work that is being done.

I really enjoyed my year at Centrica and fell it contributed heavily to both my professional and personal development which will both help me on my return to university and when it comes to apply for jobs in the future due to the wealth of experiences that this last year has given me.
