Overview
Working directly with property managers to support the day-to-day operations of property management, including tenant communications, lease renewals, maintenance coordination. My key responsibilities and achievements include: - Assisting with tenant and client requests while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. - Supporting property managers, delivering high levels of service to both leaseholders and freeholders. - Contributing to property inspections and reporting on condition and maintenance needs. - Assisting with service charge budgets and financial reports. And many more.
Skills
Last month, my line manager reassigned me to the Taylor Wimpy portfolio, where I used my skills from the Church Commissioners for England portfolio to run the fire door compartmentation surveys rather than assist. This new role gave me the opportunity to boost my confidence as well as improving my communication, writing and verbal skills.
Responsibilities
I've been aiding with alteration permissions, where I've been responsible for reviewing leases and plans obtained from the planning portal, as well as doing property inspections following the refurbishments to check the alterations align with the plans within the licence. Due to all this and many more I would say I've had a great amount responsibility during my placement year.
Support & Guidance
Personally for me I would say the guidance I've received from my team wasn't amazing but it was enough to out me on the right path.
Culture
I have loved working in Finsbury Office. Although at times the office attendance has been low. I used that as an opportunity to network with the wider residential team and others. This has led me to making more friends within the office creating a better atmosphere.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement year at Savills. This experience has expanded my knowledge of the property management industry, and while this has only been residential experience, the skills I've obtained will be transferable to the commercial sector and many more.
Yes
I applied to Savills waiting to gain an insight within the residential sector and I was lucky to be giving the opportunity to work within one. To new applications looking to apply to Savills for a specific department I would advice them to keep their options open. I have learnt that there is so much more to this industry other than just commercial and residential.
