Overview
I attend daily scrums, I design new systems and then write the code for our compliance IT team. I help other members of my team with systems that I look after.
Skills
I have learned so many new skills, including containerisation, APIs, kubernetes, docker, NGINX, LDAP, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD and more. A lot of this stuff university does not teach you so this year has been so valuable in teaching me stuff for university and my future career, I can鈥檛 recommend it enough.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given my own tasks to complete and trusted to complete them to a good standard. I was reached out to by members of my team and other teams for help on these systems I have made. I was also invited to join meetings discussing strategy of the team and helped interview and choose next years interns
Support & Guidance
Every time I asked for support I got it. My managers set out a road map for me to achieve everything I wanted to achieve in placement and understand the broader compliance IT functions.
Culture
Amazing, I can see why a lot of the senior staff have stayed here so long. Work life balance is great, my manager is really understanding if I have out of work problems and the other young people in the office are a really good laugh
