    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Create clear and concise briefs for marketing jobs. Project manage these through content creation, proof reading and stakeholder approval. Through effective agency and supplier management, ensure tasks are delivered on time and to budget. Work with the Marketing Manager to deliver accurate reporting and present back to stakeholders, sharing insights as appropriate. Support with online journeys and channels, online advertising, and website management to ensure we are continuing to put our best foot forward on digital platforms. Using analytics tools to review campaign and website performance and provide recommendations on how to improve the customer journey. Work closely with the Marketing Managers and their Brand contacts to support on a variety of tasks, from campaign reporting to presenting at meetings. This will provide exposure to everything the team is responsible for.

  • Yes, during my digital marketing placement at VWFS, I developed new skills and built on existing ones. I improved my understanding of SEO, content creation, and digital analytics using tools like Google Analytics. I also gained experience working with cross-functional teams and communicating insights clearly. A key area of growth was prioritisation and time management, as I often had to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while adapting to changing project needs.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I was given a high level of responsibility during my placement. I managed several key projects and oversaw all content published on the VWFS website. This included conducting competitor reviews to identify best practices, which directly informed the redesign of many of our web pages. I also collaborated with multiple teams to ensure content met brand standards. These responsibilities helped me develop strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a great deal of support throughout my placement. I had weekly one-to-one meetings with my managers, who gave me regular feedback and guidance on my work. I was also encouraged to attend various development workshops, which helped me build both technical and soft skills. This supportive environment made it easy to ask questions, take on new challenges, and continuously develop throughout the year.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture at VWFS was extremely friendly and welcoming. I was encouraged to connect and collaborate with people across different teams, which gave me a broad understanding of the business. Managers were always supportive and enthusiastic about involving me in meetings and projects beyond my core responsibilities. This open and inclusive atmosphere made it easy to learn, grow, and feel like a valued member of the team.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement. Not only did I learn a lot about digital marketing, but I also gained a deeper understanding of myself and how I work best. It鈥檚 been amazing to see how much I鈥檝e developed both personally and professionally over the year. Looking back, I鈥檝e had the opportunity to meet some incredible people, build lasting connections, and create memories that have made the experience truly rewarding.

  • At first, I was a bit unsure about applying as I didn鈥檛 know much about the finance sector, but there was no need to worry. From the start, I received lots of support, and the team made it easy to learn and grow. My advice would be to keep an open mind, ask questions, and make the most of every opportunity鈥攖here鈥檚 so much to gain both professionally and personally.
