I worked in the Science Discovery Department where our primary focus is to is to guide the future strategic direction of the organisation, scientifically evaluating novel technologies and identifying potential business opportunities or threats. I had the responsibility of managing a small-scale human study and in viro experiement. But had lots of guidence and support throughout.

Lots, there is a designated placement team of about 10 internal R&D BAT employees who are very friendly and give lots of guidence and advice. I had a senior mentor and buddy as well as a line manager. BAT employees very friendly and kind people.

I really enjoyed my internship at BAT. I had enough responsibility that I felt like I was doing something meaningful. I have developed so many skills that will help my personal development and career. everyone is so friendly. The projects I was working on were really interesting. It felt like I was doing the sort of work I do at uni but I had a more structured schedule, weekends off and was getting payed.
