Overview
It was a well-structured scheme that gave me exposure to both the legal work and the people at Latham. I spent my time on a researcg tasks, various practice insights and networking events.
Skills
During the scheme, I developed my legal research and drafting skills significantly, particularly when working on real client matters. Additionally, I gained practical experience in legal document review and improved my attention to detail. Overall, it was a great opportunity to enhance my legal skill set.
Business Insight
There were sessions hosted by all the practice areas and departments, providing a broad overview of all the potential roles available. Moreover, graduate recruitment members proactively asked us if there were any areas which we wanted more information on or that weren't covered - which really stood out in a positive manner.
Culture
No company would ever admit to having an "unfriendly" culture, so there was some initial scepticism at hearing about how "friendly" the firm was. However, when actually taking part in the scheme, it was clearly evident that people across seniorities and roles were very open, friendly and welcoming - the culture and atmosphere was amazing.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed it - nice balance between insights into various roles, understanding more about the firm, the ability to engage in work and networking & socials.
Yes
