About You
I found the programme very enjoyable - as a class we got on really well
It's rare to meet people who genuinely value your opinion or voice, especially at an intern level. This is something GS does well.
My team were particularly supportive and were always willing to sit down and help with any questions I had
The learning curve at GS for this programme was steep but useful and even enjoyable.
The Company
There were a lot of sessions as well as desk time, but I wish I had more time to spend with my team
The atmosphere within the department was really positive and supportive, I felt welcome straight away
The sessions we had were very useful - especially those focused on the 'softer skills'
As the programme is only 2 weeks we will only be able to learn a limited amount about working at GS, but the employees had positive feedback
The culture and focus on diversity is very pronounced which I appreciated
I knew I wanted to go into finance anyway, but the insight programme was useful in deciding between sales/product and even teams within the department
Everything Else
I was paid the typical amount for a spring insight intern
The networking sessions and regular catch ups meant I met people from all over the department and even wider firm, which I appreciated
There was a large emphasis on networking which was very useful as it meant I could decide on what I value in a firm and what I want out of a department even more
I liked how the employees at GS still pursued their hobbies alongside their career
I think it is a great experience to gain more exposure to the financial world, and GS in particular
