About You
Really enjoyed the spring week because of the firm culture. The structure of the programme really gave me a good understanding of how Ops work in GS. It wasnt to hectic but the whole programme made me feel very productive. I was bombarded with lots of information and insights from the experts.
Very valued in the whole firm. People are very willing to spend time to answer your questions. I was never afraid to raise my hand because the experts know that we're here to learn. HCM cares a lot about our welfare and always give tips on how to succeed during the internship.
A lot. I did many work shadowings and that really helped to decide my career path. I had very good guidance from my mentor on my group presentation as well as pitch competition. The analysts spent one hour/ two to show me her day-to-day job although she is very busy.
The ability to think on the feet and ask questions, besides being an independent thinker. Although it didnt assist me in my degree but the soft skills that i gained definitely help to develop myself as a person. Main skills: networking skill, time management and ability to articulate thoughts .
The Company
Very well. there were break in between presentation. Networking events were great. there were so many networking opportunities that intern could sign up for such as LGBT events where we could meet other people from other divisions as well. Besides, the interactive session and case studies stimulate our thinking and improve team synergy.
The firm culture focused a lot on people development. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. There are a lot of smart people that we can ask very deep questions. It is a flat organisational structure where all VP, analyst sit together to discuss projects together. really enjoy the welcoming atmosphere
They give a lot of presentation and talks (division specific and firm wide) to make sure we really understand what the job entails. GSU is a very good platform to learn knowledge in IB as well, make full use of the facilities in the desktop it will be useful for the presentation
I totally understand what the job entails regarding job hours, nature of the job and the people who will be working with me in the future. every one is very driven and wiilling to take up challenges so the firm culture was really great. Do more work shadowing to understand the job
I understand the company culture so much because of the people who i talk to. there are a lot of presentation happen that give us a lot of insights into the firm as well. The culture was great and i really like it would like to come back again for internship.
very useful becasue i see what it entails in job not only in your division because i get to interact with other interns from other divisions as well. i think i would definitely know the work-balance lifestyle that i want in my future. The people are willing to tell you the truth
Everything Else
i was paid quite well.
yes many people have diffrent hobbies and differnt activties outside of work. i think it is really up to your preference. but the firm definitely encourage people to pursue their passion outside of work so i think the culture is very very good i really like tyhe company like this
