    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It has been the best experience I could ever ask for. I had the opportunity to met a lot of people from analyst to MD, understand how investment banking works and its divisions. All the spring interns were very nice, we bonded a lot between each other, and even spent the whole weekend together visiting London.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • From the people from HR, to people from the industry, to other spring interns, I was valued at all times. HR people gave us feedback, people from the industry invested a lot of time on us. Especially on this fact, even MDs who do not have a lot time, came to speak with us and were focused only on us. Also, the spring interns who had more finance experience were always available to explain us new concepts.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We had the opportunity to do a two day training session in which the teacher taught us all the corporate finance fundamentals which were very useful to develop the cases we had to do for the Spring Week. On the other hand, we received also guidance on how we were doing by a feedback session from a person from HR.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have not studied Valuation of a company at university, but I have already been taught on it here plus we have done different projects to apply the things we have learned. Therefore, I will be much more prepared for the future corporate classes I will do in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The Spring Week was very well structured and we were given a schedule at the beginning of each week to know when would our breaks be. This was very interesting and useful because we had the opportunity to organize coffee chat and network with different people from the firm beforehand.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was weigh above expectations. From a personal point of view, I thought that working in this type of bank people would be very competitive in terms of not sharing information, not helping each other out and acting like "sharks". However, everyone was very outgoing and we made a very good group of friends which we actually went out all together over the weekend. In fact, we are planning visiting each other out over the summer.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested all of what it was on their hands for me. They provided a hotel and flights for flying to London, plus it is a payed internship. As well, they provided two weeks of intense corporate finance training with a super good teacher who taught us finance in a very easy and applicable way.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Although we could not experience the long hours an analyst needs to go through, we could understand what everyone does in their position. We could practice pitching, valuation and different things you could do as an analyst. In addition, we could speak with a lot of analysts, associates, VPs and MDs who could share us their experience.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We completly understood the cultrue by different activities. First one being different round tables or presentations on different diversity groups. Also, we could meet people who were actually working at Goldman Sachs and see how they worked, see if it would be a good fit for us and overall, everyone was very outgoing.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • After the two week spring week, I could actually see what investment banking was. I thought I new a lot but I actually didn't. I had the ability to meet a lot of people and by them sharing their experiences, I could see if that was the life I wanted to have in the future.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • And reimbursed for flight and accommodation expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Plenty, it was incredible how much the company invested on us and our networking opportunities. They made different networking events and dinners, sponsor tables for women, networking with interns from other divisions. Also, if you wanted to know someone from a specific team, you could just drop them an email (even though you did not know them) and go on a coffee chat with them.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were very interesting because you could meet people from different teams. We had a variety, from networking lunches, to sponsor circles, to coffee chats. It gave you the opportunity to actually reach out people who could be potential co workers in the future. Overall, I am very thankful for the opportunities given.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Absolutely. I could meet people outside of working hours and we actually went and had drinks with other Spanish people.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Best internship ever: you learn a lot, meet a lot of people and understand the GS culture.
