About You
Had so much fun doing the spring internship, that I barely noticed the two weeks passing by.
I felt that our presence was highly valued. The fact that the investment bankers(even at MD levels) took time out of their busy schedules to talk to us, speaks for itself.
Very much. The training we received during the internship was highly appreciated and the recruiters were very good at giving us feedback on our performance.
The approach to finance in my study is very theoretical, so learning how the theory is applied in real life was something I really enjoyed.
The Company
Very well structured schedule. The programme was intensive, but in a good way.
- 1 on 1 feedback with recruiters - feedback on case studies with VPs - help from analysts with cases - training in corporate finance and valuation
I was quite sure about wanting a FT role with GS before the programme. After the internship I am now more certain than ever that I want to work for GS
From talking to (former) GS i-bankers I had a somewhat clear understanding of the culture. Now it seems to me that there is a larger focus on work-life balance than I had thought. However, this might just be the image HR were trying to portray.
Everything Else
HR had arranged several networking events with i-bankers across all groups and levels.
I was hoping for a social event involving alcohol, but else it was fine
We were introduced to several networks within GS
